There are a few methods I use to keep my “seemingly organized but actually messy” life together. My agenda, my bag organizer, my labeled makeup storage container, the plastic dividers separating my undergarments in my Ikea PAX closet drawers – you know the “everything has a place” deal.
Everything does have a place until *one* (literally one) thing falls out of place and somehow over the course of a day, you would never know it was organized to begin with. Like a small explosion occurred in that sacred place of seemingly put together stuff.
A perfect example – my bag. I mentally lose 3 lbs after I get rid of all the shit lying around the bottom. And then soon enough, it happens. I start throwing in little items where they don’t belong, and those little items add up.
“Why am I like this,” I ask myself as I throw my 4th mini-Twix candy wrapper of the day in my now sloppy-and-unorganized bag.
As pretty as this picture of my bag is, it rarely ever looks like this. I always get questions about my bag organizer and one of the first things I say during my animated explanation is “listen to me…you need this.” It makes it somewhat impossible for the items in my bag to feel out of place, even if they are. This thing is life changing.
Even when it’s not as beautiful as pictured above, here’s what I always have in my bag:
- Samorga organizer in the color Indian Pink
- GM Agenda
- My wallet, you know, just because
- My Rose Ballerine key holder (anyone else infatuated will all things Rose Ballerine)?
- The pochette that came with my Neverfull (which I store my receipts/coupons in)
- Rose gold Ray Bans
Items that didn’t make it to the picture because they’re just not visually appealing:
- Airborne (germaphobe)
- Moisturizer
- Chapstick
- My on-the-go makeup bag
- Hand sanitizer (again, germaphobe)
- iPhone charger
- A gold pen
- Pocket Moleskin cahier journal (in case I need to write something quickly)
- A shit ton of candy (dark chocolate/gummies)
- Jerkey sticks (the snack that holds me over until my next snack. Judge me)
One of my goals for 2018 is to try and keep my things organized and not allow myself to be as messy. To be intentional and think before I throw that little candy wrapper in my bag or place a pair of socks where the underwear should be. To me, this is comparable to the way I think about my overall health – you just can’t neglect it. And if you do, you’ll have to work even harder to get back to where you were. And who TF wants to do that?!

Jowana, I totally agree. A bag organizer is amazing especially when you can customize the inside pockets, just like with this Samorga! I highly recommend this brand. I’ve tried others, but this brand is the highest quality and their colors are to.die.for.
