*UPDATE*
Since writing this post a few weeks ago, my hopes, prayers, and dreams were answered by the green sofa gods, and this custom Anthropologie Forest Green Velvet CHESTERFIELD will be arriving around mid-March!!!

It’s been a few weeks since finishing our bathroom and even though they’re just about healed from the abundance of tiny deep gashes, my hands are itching to start a new project. A true Type A can’t not be working on anything or starting something new.
Every so often, I’ll divulge myself in writing a post that doesn’t really benefit you, the reader, unless you’re thoroughly interested in what’s been on my mind – aka my next room design. So yes, this post is more of a “dear diary I love my husband to death but why can’t he understand that a green sofa is a need and not a want.” If you’d like to see how I would design my own dream living room (in hopes that I can eventually bring it to life), then keep on reading.
It’s taken a while, but I think I’ve sort of nailed down my ever-evolving style (at least for the time being), and how I can best describe it is as follows;
MY OWN PERSONAL AESTHETIC IS EVER-EVOLVING, BUT IS BEST DESCRIBED AS TRADITIONAL GLAMOUR WITH A MODERN TWIST AND A MASCULINE TOUCH. I FOCUS ON CREATING A JUXTAPOSITION OF DARK AND LIGHT, MIXING MODERN WITH VINTAGE AND BLENDING MASCULINE WITH FEMININE.
Of course, “juxtaposition” was thrown in there, Sally. That’s a design blogger’s favorite word.
Anywho, I got lost in the throes of the internet and took to photoshop to create the living room of my dreams

Anddd the 3D room design:
If Angelo doesn’t eventually cave on that green sofa, here’s my second option, which includes our existing sofa and rug:

Obviously, it’s not nearly as stunning as the first option, but it’s a worst-case scenario type of thing.
I have a full week off between Christmas and the New Year, and I plan on painting our entire upstairs level white (it’s currently gray). It’s a northern facing room nightmare and once I’m finished painting, I plan to start building out the living room a little more based on this design.
If you’re still reading this…pls send a prayer to the green sofa gods for me OK.

We used to have a brown leather Chesterfield and my husband loved it… But after five years, I desperately wanted a navy blue velvet English roll arm. I hinted and blogged about it for about six months and he finally told me to go for it! Hoping you get your green chesterfield!
Aww that’s amazing!!! It’s so funny I JUST ordered it!! Your comment must have helped, loL!! 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your sofa!
I found ur site earlier today when I got an email from Pinterest re’the only gray u will ever need’.
For 3 friggin years, I’ve been looking at large swipes of various greys on the deep maroon color in my not very bright LR. Very 1990’s, and not in a good way!
My husband will occasionally say ‘we need to do something in there’ Ya think? Thank God I don’t even have to look at the mess on the wall and in the dining room – too far into room, so I go up the stairs and pretend it’s 1995 again!
Our son was looking at houses 5 years ago, him and his wife – more him, she’s too sweet, told me about one house that had an ugly ass LR like mine! WTF!
Good thing I love the kid!
I saw somewhere on here that u got the couch, I saw it, now I can’t find the covered up pictures again. The reveal is the best part!
hahaha!!! Grays are definitely very complicated. thanks so much for reading, Karen!! 🙂
