One year ago I wrote about how much our home has evolved since we became homeowners in June of 2017. At the time of writing that post, we had made some progress in our home, but I had no idea that in the coming months I would challenge myself more than ever (physically and mentally) and would end up renovating a living room, master bedroom and master bathroom.
Check out the one year post here.
A lot has changed over the last 365 days. I finally found myself (ahem, my style), DIY-renovated a bathroom from the studs, learned how to cut and install molding (a game-changing design element in our basic home), and took some big steps outside of my comfort zone.
Today I’m sharing a recap of the progress we’ve made in the now two years we’ve been in our Northern NJ home.

Next up on my list of rooms to tackle, I plan on re-designing my office and then, the room we’ve been dying to remodel, the main bathroom.
I’ve learned so much over the last year and I can’t wait for what’s to come. Next week I plan on sharing the biggest mistake I learned as a first time homeowner and how I learned from it.
Have a great week!

OMG, what a difference!
While I didn’t like the gold moose head above the bed, U worked him in, as a deer head, and he looks great! Love the picture molding on the walls.
I would never have had the nerve to do the master like you did, and read your previous post on it. Damn, it all looks so good!
I also put the grey/white Carrera marble in the shower. Or rather, the Mexican guys the contractor hired put the marble in!
You’ve accomplished so much in 1 year. A year ago March, I bought a metal scrolly thing to put on the wall above the bed.
The friggin thing is still standing next to the door, where it got put when I brought it home!
Can’t wait to see ur next project!

Your Master bath is Beautiful! Can you please tell me the colors you used on the walls, cabinet and tile in the shower area. I also am planning on remodeling my entire house,I am not good with choosing paint colors. I did read what you wrote about the perfect gray. I have a porch on the front of my house and back, not a lot of natural light.Between my furniture and other things in my house there is a lot of green and brown that a gray would have to blend with and not look muddy or purple. My flooring is the wood color like yours and would like to paint my wood work white or what ever that would blend nice. Also putting in new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops/countertops in kitchen and bathrooms that would also work with the floor, wall color, trim color and the cabinet color. I can not open my house with taking down walls, would like for it to look open, airy and calming.Your rooms are beautiful but I live many states away from you ????Please I need help with blending my colors

Absolutely stunning! I found a photo of your living room via Pinterest whilst searching for “traditional glam”. This is very much my style but my current decor is very much lacking in vivid pops of color. You’ve given me some great ideas on how I might better use color in my own home. Thanks so much for sharing.
