Before & After: A Classic Glamour Living Room Reveal

Reveal posts are probably my favorite types of posts to write, because I love recapping all of the details that I’ve invested so much time into for the last few months and sharing all of the before and after photos of a fresh new space. This reveal is particularly special because after *wishing upon a star* for years, … Read moreBefore & After: A Classic Glamour Living Room Reveal

Style Your Space With These Chic Decor Finds (For Under $99)

After the reveal of our master bathroom, I immediately looked to the living room as my next victim, which is the design I’ve been focusing on for the last few months. So far I’ve ordered a green Anthropologie chesterfield sofa (after presenting a “Why I Need a Green Chesterfield” PowerPoint to my anti-green-chesterfield husband), snagged a marble Versailles coffee … Read moreStyle Your Space With These Chic Decor Finds (For Under $99)

It’s Our 1 Year Houseversary! Progress, Before & After Photos

house anniversary

I cannot even believe it’s been an entire year since we closed on our house and one year since I lost almost half of the hair on my head along with all of my sanity during the process. I try to block it from memory, but I vividly remember calling/texting/emailing/stalking our realtor, mortgage guy and lawyer multiple times … Read moreIt’s Our 1 Year Houseversary! 4 Favorites: Crime + Drama Podcasts to Listen to in 2018

Am I the only one always on the hunt for the best new podcast? They’re like movies for your ears. I particularly love podcasts that feature crimes/drama/disturbing stories, etc. Since I listen while driving, I usually get lost in each episode and wind up on the edge of my seat, pulling into my destination and not … Read more4 Favorites: Crime + Drama Podcasts to Listen to in 2018

Our Wedding Day

AKA one big ol’ excuse to post wedding pictures.

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this right now. It feels like just a few days ago that we were searching for our venue and now here I am, uploading pictures from our wedding day.

Our photographers, Sanford Creative, were un-effin-believable. Within days after we picked our date, we booked Amanda and Scott Sanford from southern CA (a recommendation from a friend). I fell in love with their style and just had to have them.

TBH I was never the type of girl to “dream” of her wedding. What I did always know, was that one day when it does happen, I had one, ballsy-ass request: it has to be during autumn. Even ballsier: I wanted crisp, autumn weather with beautiful, picturesque foliage and if it was the slightest bit hot or humid, I would probably be miserable. How audacious of me to ask for the one thing I can’t control – the weather.

My wish came true and it ended up being one of the coldest days of the year. I totally asked for it and I’m not complaining.

We stuck it out through photos in 16 degree temps/20 mph winds. I swear I would have given my left pinky to frostbite knowing our pictures would have come out this good.

Here’s a recap of my favorite photos from each part of the day:

An Organized Mess: What’s in My Bag

There are a few methods I use to keep my “seemingly organized but actually messy” life together. My agenda, my bag organizer, my labeled makeup storage container, the plastic dividers separating my undergarments in my Ikea PAX closet drawers – you know the “everything has a place” deal.

Everything does have a place until *one* (literally one) thing falls out of place and somehow over the course of a day, you would never know it was organized to begin with. Like a small explosion occurred in that sacred place of seemingly put together stuff.

A perfect example – my bag. I mentally lose 3 lbs after I get rid of all the shit lying around the bottom. And then soon enough, it happens. I start throwing in little items where they don’t belong, and those little items add up.

“Why am I like this,” I ask myself as I throw my 4th mini-Twix candy wrapper of the day in my now sloppy-and-unorganized bag.

As pretty as this picture of my bag is, it rarely ever looks like this. I always get questions about my bag organizer and one of the first things I say during my animated explanation is “listen to me…you need this.” It makes it somewhat impossible for the items in my bag to feel out of place, even if they are. This thing is life changing.

Even when it’s not as beautiful as pictured above, here’s what I always have in my bag:

  • Samorga organizer in the color Indian Pink
  • GM Agenda
  • My wallet, you know, just because
  • My Rose Ballerine key holder (anyone else infatuated will all things Rose Ballerine)?
  • The pochette that came with my Neverfull (which I store my receipts/coupons in)
  • Rose gold Ray Bans

Items that didn’t make it to the picture because they’re just not visually appealing:

  • Airborne (germaphobe)
  • Moisturizer
  • Chapstick
  • My on-the-go makeup bag
  • Hand sanitizer (again, germaphobe)
  • iPhone charger
  • A gold pen
  • Pocket Moleskin cahier journal (in case I need to write something quickly)
  • A shit ton of candy (dark chocolate/gummies)
  • Jerkey sticks (the snack that holds me over until my next snack. Judge me)

One of my goals for 2018 is to try and keep my things organized and not allow myself to be as messy. To be intentional and think before I throw that little candy wrapper in my bag or place a pair of socks where the underwear should be. To me, this is comparable to the way I think about my overall health – you just can’t neglect it. And if you do, you’ll have to work even harder to get back to where you were. And who TF wants to do that?!

How do you get organized and stay organized? Leave a comment below!

See you guys soon!

Product Review: T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

sukari babyfacial

Having always struggled with my skin, I’m frequently looking for the next best skincare product or ways to improve my makeup techniques. I’m a sucker for anything claiming it will prevent wrinkles, smooth, de-puff, cover up, lengthen, brighten, whiten, etc. Do they all work? No. Do I still try because I am a victim of marketing? Yes.

I started wearing makeup and getting regular facials in middle school, around 13 years old. To this day, I rarely ever leave the house without at least some concealer and mascara on. Putting on makeup and taking good care of my skin helped me feel confident in the skin I wasn’t confident about.

I guess that’s why I started loving skincare products. I knew that if I could improve my skin, I would feel more confident in my skin. I’ve tried a million products over the last few years but have only remained loyal to a few tried-and-true.

One of my newest holy grail skincare products that I’ve been using 2-3x  weekly since the day it arrived in my mailbox:

The T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial by Drunk Elephant.

Here’s the backstory:

Starting five weeks out from our wedding, I was getting some sort of facial/skincare treatment every Saturday. I walked out of the spa feeling confident and had no desire to wear makeup. Angelo even noticed and dropped a “your face is glowing” comment. Whaaaat?

Then, we got married and just like that – I stopped going for my treatments. I know going for facials every few weeks is important. But after our wedding, I went into this weird “I feel like marinating on the couch for a few weeks and doing nothing” mode.

While I was marinating on the couch scrolling through the skincare section of Sephora’s website, the Sukari Babyfacial appeared. It had unusually good claims and I was a bit skeptical, but since I buy things solely based on reviews, I threw this product into my cart and checked out.

Within 3 days I had it on my face. It tingled a bit, but I impatiently waited the required 20 minutes until I rinsed it off. I looked in the mirror and literally gasped.

I was glowing.

My face was clear and radiant – like I had just walked out of one of my facial appointments. My pores were smaller. I looked hydrated. My skin felt smooth and soft, like…a baby. Could you even imagine?! I couldn’t either but here I am. Someone with skincare issues talking about how their face felt like a baby – from the Sukari Babyfacial.

My best friend, Nicole, came over a few weeks later and I forced this stuff onto her face. “You have to try this.” She also had the same initial reaction as I did. Drunk Elephant had won over another Babyfacial lover.

Anywho, I’m not saying I’m never going to get a professional facial again, but if this product can save me the money and time of going to regular facial appointments while still providing the same results, I’m all for it.

What’s your holy grail facial treatment? I would love to know!
